Great little notebook May 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great little notebook. Mine has lasted for years, even though it's scratched all over (the black scratches when it hits coins in your pocket). You can find refill pads (designed for other products) at Staples, although they don't fit as well as the pads straight from Wellspring.
There are two minor design flaws with this pad: (1) The pen scratches the pen-holder when the pen is inserted and removed (leaving, after a while, an extremely scratched and pitted side), and (2) the hinge pin sometimes starts working it's way out. If I see the pin coming out (slowly over weeks), I just push it back in. It's never been a problem.
Overall, the only way I can see that this product could be better is if it had a double hinge, so that you could fold the front cover over completely. It's a wonderful notebook that lives in my back pocket and that has served me very well. I'm actually going to buy a couple of spares just in case this pad goes off the market.
